White River Rumble a big success
MEEKER I The inaugural White River Rumble, a 70-mile cross-country snowmobile race in the White River National Forest, was held Saturday and the inaugural event was considered a success by riders and organizers.
Barone wrestlers finish in third March 5 in Steamboat Springs
MEEKER I The Barone Middle School wrestling team has been a little under weather lately but 14 members of the team wrestled in the Carl Ramunno Memorial in Steamboat Springs on March 5, returning with a third place trophy and four champions.
Young Panthers host final tourney
RANGELY I The Rangely Middle School wrestling team placed several wrestlers within the top four at Oak Creek on Saturday, and the young grapplers will host the Northwest Colorado League Championship tournament on Saturday at the Rangely Junior/Senior High School.
Barone wrestlers second in Oak Creek
MEEKER I The Barone Middle School wrestling team finished second again, this time in Oak Creek, placing 10 Cowboys in the top four, including three champions.
Meeker’s Nick Burri will play golf at Missouri Valley College
MEEKER I Nick Burri only played golf three years in high school, but his commitment to and passion for the game has earned him a scholarship to golf this fall at Missouri Valley College.

RANGELY I “We have lots to work on still, but the guys wrestled well,” Rangely Middle School wrestling coach Travis Witherell said of the young Panthers’ performance in the annual Carl Ramunno tournament in Steamboat Springs.
Meeker girls wrap up basketball season with defeat at divisionals
MEEKER I The final game of the season for the Meeker High School girls’ basketball team was played in Oak Creek, where the lady Cowboys lost 62-32 to the Soroco Rams (18-2) in the quarterfinal round of the district tournament.

RANGELY I The Rangely Middle School Panther wrestling team opened its season in Hayden on Saturday and returned with six placers, including two champions, which was more than half of the Panthers who entered.
