Out-of-town golfers take honors at Cedar Ridges

RANGELY I Fourteen teams entered the competitive annual two-man best ball tournament at Cedar Ridges Golf Course in Rangely last weekend, including teams from Rangely, Rifle, Fruita and Vernal, Utah. Three playoffs were needed to decide the final results.

Lake Avery…

Entrance fees to all of Colorado’s 42 state parks, including Lake Avery east of Meeker, will be waived Aug. 6, in celebration of Colorado Day by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The Rio Blanco County Horse Show was held last weekend at the RBC fairgrounds in Meeker and “Zandy,” pictured with 11-year-old Lila Klinglesmith was the grand champion gelding.

The ERBM Recreation and Park District has teamed up with the Meeker Golf Course for the junior golf program and 30 kids showed up for the first practice.

Paintbrush Park will be busy every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the month of July, as games in the annual adult recreational coed softball league, sponsored by the ERBM Recreation and Park District, began Monday on both fields.
