The White River Museum Garrison building will now be open weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the tourist season, May-September.
DROWNING: Leading cause of injury death
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued a report that states: “Drowning is the leading cause of injury death among children ages 1-4 years… These children most commonly drowned in swimming pools.”

Rangely Parkview principal resigns
The Rangely school board accepted the resignation of Linda “Bennie” Bennett, principal of Parkview Elementary, at its May 15 board meeting. Bennett will pursue other opportunities.
Local student earns degrees from UNC
Katelyn Collins of Meeker received degrees as a specialist in education and school psychology from the University of Northern Colorado during spring 2012 graduation ceremonies May 4-5.
