Pioneers breaks ground on new hospital
MEEKER I On Friday afternoon, amid cloudy and breezy skies, more than 120 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Pioneers Medical Center, two miles northeast of downtown Meeker.
Six DI teams from Meeker headed to state
MEEKER I Meeker was well represented with 10 teams at the 2014 Western Slope Regional Destination Imagination Tournament in Rifle during the past weekend. Six of those teams will be going to the state competition in April.
County presents justice center concept plan
MEEKER I Roughly 90 people were present the evening of March 12 as the Rio Blanco County commissioners unveiled their concept drawing for turning the old Meeker Elementary School into a new justice center, which would hold the county jail, courts, sheriff’s office, county attorney and staff and court-related offices.

MEEKER I During January, Meeker Elementary School students enjoyed special happenings in the library. Students enjoyed a 4-H program presented by Dessa Watson and Jamie Moyer as well as Science Week and Spirit Week.
