Meeker considering return to four days
MEEKER I As school districts scramble to respond to impending state budget cuts, one option being considered on both ends of the county is the four-day school week. Rangely’s school district has held public forums and surveys while it studies whether to switch to the four-day school week.
Witherell is state champ at 152 pounds
For the first time since 1997, Rangely has a state wrestling champion. Senior Travis Witherell recorded a takedown in overtime to win the individual title in the 152-pound weight class Saturday at the state wrestling championships in Denver.

RANGELY I Sharon Briggs didn’t know who was pounding on her door the morning of Jan. 14. “I had no idea whatsoever,” said Briggs, whose house at 832 E. Main St. was searched by agents of the criminal investigation unit of the Internal Revenue Service.
