Kolbi Franklin, pictured, and Anna Walsh, both of Meeker, did quite well at the Colorado State Fair Beef 4-H Carcass Contest in Pueblo. Franklin placed first with Walsh placing second.

Meeker football team wins playoff; Rye here Saturday
MEEKER I The Cowboys defeated the Ellicott Thunder Hawks 44-21 in the first round of the 1A Colorado state football playoffs on Saturday, advancing to the state quarterfinals, where they will host Rye in Starbuck Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m.
First snow…
Meeker residents woke up to about 1.5 inches of snow on the ground Monday, the first measurable snowfall of the season. Although this snow arrived later than usual, forecasts call for a cold and snowy winter ahead.
