Fall is officially here, so let the grousing begin. All of the complaints about the cold season to come seem to prepare everyone for winter weather. Winter seems to be the only season that escapes the brevity complaints, as the other three always are way too short.

Fire officials plan burn near Aldrich Lakes this autumn
RBC I Federal fire officials on the Blanco Ranger District of the White River National Forest are planning an 800-acre prescribed fire this fall on National Forest lands near Aldrich Lakes and adjoining private lands in Rio Blanco County, approximately 19 miles northeast of Meeker.

54-year-old man listed as missing person
MEEKER I Paul Elder, 54, has been listed as a missing person by the Arvada Police Department. Elder was last seen Sept. 2. Elder’s green Chevy pickup was found on Lookout Mountain in Golden on Sept. 9. Arvada police said no foul play is suspected.
