Grandnephew of Meeker man killed in plane crash
MEEKER I The bodies of four young people were found June 30 in the wreckage of a small plane that crashed the weekend before in rugged terrain in Montana. One of those who died — Sonny Kless — was the grandnephew of Harry Watt of Meeker.

Just a short note to the community on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We have been collecting money for Jerry’s Kids since 2003. Nationally, most departments fill the boot on Labor Day weekend. We tried that our first year and only made $525.
Rain fails to dampen celebratory spirits in county events
It was a big weekend on both ends of the county. Meeker celebrated the 125th anniversary of Range Call, making this year’s event even bigger than usual. While Rangely celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with kids’ activities in Elks Park and fireworks at Kenney Reservoir.
