Letters To The Editor

Letter: Thanks for serving

I wanted to take a moment and thank Ann Brady and Dan Eddy for their service to the town of Rangely. Over the years of their tenure on the council and as mayor, the town enjoyed new housing development on La Mesa, Ridgeview, Dragon Wash and West Main.

Letter: A missed opportunity

After attending the public meeting of the Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District on April 17, I came away feeling the board of directors missed great opportunities. They missed an opportunity to listen, take notes and to understand the concerns of landowners.

Letter: Thank you, Rangely

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. To Dr. Cameron and her team. Bernie Rice (you know what you mean to me), the ambulance crew, officers, Melody, Frank Huitt (you are an awesome person). To the pallbearers: Chris Dyess, Jeff LeBleu, Jerry LeBleu Jr., Randy Stewart,[Read More…]

Letter: Student: A bad idea

I have been to many schools in the past around the country and Rangely High school is by far the worst school I’ve been to … teaching is horrible, student behavior is even worst.

Letter: Taxes fund services

As directed by state law, the county assessor is responsible for valuing all property in the county. During intervening years, only property owners who have a valuation change will receive a Notice of Valuation from the Rio Blanco County Assessor’s office.

Letter: Town needs hospital

Letter: Schools’ job to teach

In response to the letter printed on April 8 regarding the four-day school week, I would remind the readers that it is the job of the schools to educate, not to provide daycare, parenting services and a moral compass. Remember that the family is the backbone of our society, and[Read More…]

Letter: Remember, affirm life

Probably since near the dawn of time men who, for whatever reason, were bent on the destruction of their fellow man did so by making them seem, somehow, less than human. It was a tactic used to justify slavery in colonial America and one also employed by Hitler against the[Read More…]

Letter: Father thanks community

Thank you, Rangely. I cannot explain the hurt from the loss of my daughter, and I know that many have experienced the same, but also know that some are not as fortunate as me, and I am saying this in regard to the support that I have received from the[Read More…]

Letter: Outgoing mayor says thanks

It has been my pleasure and honor to serve on the Rangely Town Council for the past seven years, with six of those years as mayor. We have a great town manager and staff and I have truly enjoyed working with them all.
