Looking out my window I saw a large number of people surrounding the Rio Blanco County Courthouse, peering up into the air with a forlorn, lost look. It seemed they were in need of some leader to emerge to tell them what to do next.

Letter to the Editor: In regard to letter on endangered horses
Dear Editor: This letter is in regard to Patti William’s letter concerning the wild horses becoming extinct. There are supposed to be at least 37,000 wild horses still in the wild. Letter to the Editor: Why health fairs are important
Dear Editor: The health fairs in Meeker and Rangely on Saturday are a great opportunity to think about your own (and your family’s) situation and be sure you have an accurate understanding of your true health. By that, I don’t mean if you just “feel” OK. I encourage you to[Read More…]
From my window… Dealing with rumors: It happened and it’s time to move on
EDITOR’S NOTE: It is customary for newspapers across the United States to not use the names of juveniles arrested, issued summons or citations. The one exception is when a person under 18 is arrested and charged with a capital felony — most often murder. The reason I am touching on[Read More…]
Letter to the Editor: Downtown health most important

Letter to the Editor: Tank supporters thank Rangely folks
Dear Editor: My first trip to the town of Rangely was in 1976 with the Colorado Chautauqua tour. It was great. We had everything from dancing to pottery workshops, and the people of Rangely joined in and tried everything.
Letter to the Editor: Letter of thanks
Dear Editor: Being a 50-plus year resident of Meeker, I have certainly been witness to the thoughtfulness of this community over the years. But, during a recent health setback, I experienced it firsthand.
Letter to the Editor: Horses no problem
Dear Editor: This letter is in response to the recent articles in the Herald Times regarding wild horse management on public lands. To begin, there is no overpopulation of wild horses on public lands in Colorado.
From my window… Oops on editor; weather, egg hunts good
It certainly didn’t take long for the honeymoon to end. I made my first mistake and it didn’t go unnoticed. Several readers, mostly from Meeker, wasted little time in letting me know I had messed up. Most of then apologized for bothering me before telling me why they were approaching[Read More…]
