20 teams compete at Cedar Ridges Golf Course
RANGELY | Twenty teams competed in the annual 27-hole, two-man tournament in two flights at Cedar Ridges Golf Course in Rangely with several players from out of town, and more are expected to play in the couples tournament Saturday and Sunday.

Work on the so-called “Peacock Building” site in Rangely is well under way as owner Bud Striegel waits for project completion for his new car museum, which he hopes will be complete in the next two or three months.

Two trainers from Castle Rock’s Max Fire Apparatus worked with approximately 14 volunteer Rangely Rural Fire Protection District firefighters last week to learn the nuances of the new Rosenbauer pump and ladder trucks delivered from Sioux Falls, S.D., last spring.
Hurricanes…
The Rangely Hurricanes took 18 swimmers to the Western Slope League meet in Grand Junction, and, according to their coach, “The kids all improved and did a great job.”
Golden Spade winner…
The Town of Rangely honored Roger and Lois Pittman of 125 W. South St. for winning The Golden Spade Award for June 2013 for the town’s most beautiful yard.
