Finding ways to improve teacher performance was the focal point —some might say a flash point —for the four-day school week. We clearly need to do a better job of helping teachers meet the classroom challenges of the 21st century.

RANGELY I It’s time to start gearing up for the annual ice cream social and homemade ice cream contest at the Rangely Outdoor Museum Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1:30 p.m., during Septemberfest weekend.

Legion takes fourth at state tournament
RBC I It wasn’t the showing they were hoping for, but just the fact they made to it to state was quite an accomplishment. Rio Blanco County’s American Legion baseball team finished fourth at last weekend’s state tournament in Craig, winning one game and losing two.
Rangely Animal Shelter receives $300 grant
RANGELY I The Rangely Animal Shelter has received a $300 grant from the Petfinder.com Foundation to purchase FVRCP vaccine to inoculate all its cats and kittens for approximately one year.
