Letter: Tea Party wants to restore accountability
There were two letters to the editor in the May 27 Herald Times that particularly caught my eye. The first letter concerning the Tea Party asked questions that, in my opinion, the author knew the answers, but in the interest of extolling the party line feigned ignorance.
Rangely principal won’t return
RANGELY I The class of incoming seniors is accustomed to turnover. The seniors-to-be at Rangely Junior/Senior High will have their fourth principal in four years. Rob Winn, first-year principal at Rangely Junior/Senior High, did not have his contract renewed.
Opinion: Anderson continues grandmother’s Memorial Day tradition
Patty Anderson is continuing a tradition started by her grandmother. The day before Memorial Day, Patty and other family members and friends will go to two of the little-known cemeteries in the county and decorate the graves for the holiday.
RHS seniors compete in three events at state
RANGELY I The Rangely track team was fortunate enough to take two hard-working senior athletes to the State Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Logan Osborne qualified for the 300 hurdles and Audrey Hogan qualified for both the 800 run and the 1,600 run.

Letter: Rio Blanco County Fair will be here soon

Obituary: Boyd Cloward
Boyd Ellis Cloward was born Dec. 15, 1943, to Boyd E. Cloward and Oma Orton Cloward in Salt Lake City. The Cloward family moved to Rangely when Boyd was about three years old and he had lived here ever since.
Letter: How much control for local governments?
Lately, many questions have been going through my head about whether our local governments have gone out of control. Are they taking too much control over our personal lives and property? Why is the town of Meeker threatening to put someone in jail for creating an inventive advertisement?
Williams: Listen to your heart
I want to start by congratulating the class of 2010 on your great success.
It’s an honor for me to be here. I know that many of you, both graduates and parents, have been waiting for this day for many years.
