MEEKER I After soundly defeating Little Snake River on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at home, the Meeker girls’ basketball team traveled to Hayden for another big win to secure a 6-0 record before taking a break for the holidays.

MHS Cowboys earn 2nd place at WREA Shootout
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys basketball team gained a berth in the championship game of the annual White River Electric “Cowboy Shootout” Saturday afternoon, but ended on the short side of the stick as they fell to Moffat County 50-46.
Lady Cowboys are the champions
MEEKER I After three big wins, the Meeker girls earned the championship trophy at the 2012 White River Electric Cowboy Shootout. Under the direction of head coach Greg Chintala the team started the tournament Thursday, Nov. 29, winning 65-19 against the Nucla Mustangs.

MEEKER I The lady Cowboys basketball team will open the 2012-2013 season on their own court against the Nucla Mustangs in the first round of the White River Electric Cowboy Shootout tonight.

MEEKER I Klark Kindler will start his 15th season as head coach of the Meeker High School boys’ basketball team, the longest head coaching tenure of the boys’ program according to local basketball aficionados. The Cowboys are the the defending league champions.

Faculty and staff of Meeker High School beat this year’s graduated seniors 63-55 in the annual Faculty versus Seniors game benefiting the Meeker High School basketball programs. The Even Years team beat the Odd Years 68-54 in the annual alumni game played Memorial Day weekend.

Earning all-conference honors this year for the Meeker girls’ basketball team were seniors Kathryn Doll and Aubrey Walsh (honorably mentioned), junior Kaysyn Chintala and sophomores Aly Ridings and Taylor Neilson.
