Youth wrestlers host tourney
RANGELY I The Rangely Panther Youth Wrestling team hosted their own tournament April 7 and had an outstanding weekend.

MEEKER I On Saturday April 7, the Meeker High School track and field team returned to competition for the first time after spring break. While some teammates showed a little rust, others were able start where they left off. Once again, the scoring of Toby Casias led the boys’ team.
Small town makes a big impression at state tourney
The middle school state wrestling championships (in affiliation with the Rocky Mountain Nationals) was held last Friday and Saturday in Denver. The event featured athletes from all over the state and from schools of all sizes.
Atwood, Atoafa stand out at MHS track meet
MEEKER I Most of the Meeker High School track and field team started their spring break just a little later than the rest of the school, but their sacrifice was well worth it. Members from both the boys’ and girls’ teams had career days.

BMS wrestlers qualify 14 for state tourney
MEEKER I Twenty-two Barone Middle School wrestlers used their first day of spring break last Saturday to wrestle in the state qualifying regional tournament in Fruita. Fourteen of them placed in the top eight, qualifying them to wrestle in Denver this weekend.

Earning all-conference honors this year for the Meeker girls’ basketball team were seniors Kathryn Doll and Aubrey Walsh (honorably mentioned), junior Kaysyn Chintala and sophomores Aly Ridings and Taylor Neilson. MEEKER I The Barone Middle School wrestling team continued their successful season last week, winning dual meets against Hayden and the Panthers in Rangely Thursday last and finishing second as a team in Oak Creek last Saturday.
