RANGELY I Rangely tracksters woke up early Friday to compete in Montrose for their meet this week. Bleary eyed that morning, few could’ve guessed what was in store for the day. Some records were broken, some medals were earned and some bus problems appeared.

Golfers able to brave the cold for tourney
MEEKER I It was a cold and windy Saturday in Meeker, but that didn’t keep more than 20 people off of the golf course to play in the first tournament of the season, a three-person, 27-hole scramble.
Cowboys drop two against state’s best

Meeker Cowboy baseball team wins a pair; JV still unbeaten
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboy varsity baseball team won two games last week, including a comeback win against Grand Valley in front of a home crowd.
RHS track boys first, girls second
RBC I The Rangely High School track team hosted their own invitational on Saturday, and several strong performances emerged as the athlete fought cool windy conditions. The boys won their meet while the girls finished second.
Meeker’s track team performs well at GWS
MEEKER I Although the recent weather has not been ideal for track meets, it won’t keep the Cowboys off the track, as they competed in Glenwood Springs on Saturday and will compete in Coal Ridge on Friday, then Rangely on Saturday.

MEEKER I The Meeker varsity and junior varsity baseball teams have played several games the past two weeks, including two at home and two against the No. 1-ranked team in the state, with another tough doubleheader scheduled for Friday in Hotchkiss.
Spartan Showdown Rodeo a big success as season ends
RANGELY I “What a weekend. What a show!” The Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans produced one of the best rodeos to come through Rangely in a long time, CNCC Rodeo head Coach Jed Moore said.
Nine Meeker wrestlers capture gold in Hayden
MEEKER I Thirty-five youth wrestlers from the Meeker Community Wrestling Club competed in Hayden on Saturday and 31 placed in the top four. Champions of their bracket were Kaden Ridgeway, Dillon Hobbs, Brendan Clatterbaugh, Cade Blunt, Judd Harvey, Noah LeBlanc, Ty Goedert, Kelton Turner and Dax Sheridan.
