Brothers wrestle at Rocky Mountain Nationals; Shelton represents Colorado
MEEKER I Many brothers from Meeker, related by blood and wrestling, spent the first weekend of their spring break wrestling at the Rocky Mountain Nationals held in Denver.
CNCC rodeo team fares well in Utah, hosts Spartan Showdown
RANGELY I The CNCC Rodeo Team has been busy. On both ends of spring break, members of the team competed in regional rodeos at Heber City, Utah, and Ogden, Utah. Those events were in preparation for the two-day Spartan Showdown this weekend at home.

Middle school wrestlers end season; Meeker and Rangely each place four
RBC I On the first Saturday of their spring break, many Rio Blanco County middle school wrestlers competed in the final tournament of the regular season in Meeker and many placed. Rangely entered nine grapplers and placed four. Meeker entered 14 wrestlers and placed four as well.
CNCC horse rider Tasha Gibson qualifies to ride at IHSA Nationals
RANGELY I Colorado Northwestern Community College equine instructor and IHSA Coach Stacey Bailey accompanied Tasha Gibson to El Reno, Okla., to compete in the third and final IHSA semi finals, where she qualified for the IHSA Nationals in open reining.
Small MHS track team has placers
MEEKER I It was the first Saturday of spring break for Meeker High School, but many of the student athletes still competed in a track and field meet in Hotchkiss, allowing some the opportunity to enter more events than normal.
Rangely boys’ track team second at Hotchkiss Invitational meet
RANGELY I The Rangely track team headed to Hotchkiss Saturday with 25 athletes who found the weather wonderful and conditions set for a good day of competition.

MEEKER I Three Barone Middle School wrestlers advanced to the championship match in a tournament held in Oak Creek on Saturday, and two seventh-graders won titles in their respective weights.

RANGELY I The Rangely High School track and field team had its first meet of the season in Rifle on Friday, sporting 16 boys and 11 girls, who made a good showing against 20 other teams.
