Panthers win tourney for third year
RANGELY I Panther pride was alive and well last weekend. The Panthers won their own 17-team invitational wrestling tournament Saturday, and the night before, they won a triangular with Coal Ridge and Hayden.
Panthers end skid with Soroco win
RBC I The Panthers ended the week on a positive note. After losing its first two games following the Christmas break, Rangely’s boys’ basketball team beat Soroco 66-47 Saturday to end a four-game losing streak and earn its first league win.
Rangely hosts triangular Friday, tourney Saturday
RANGELY I There’s no place like home. The Panthers will wrestle in front of a home crowd for the first time this season, hosting a triangular Friday and then following up with its invitational tournament on Saturday.
Jr. high girls open basketball season
RBC I Junior high girls’ basketball teams in the county opened their seasons last Saturday, and it was a good showing. Especially for the eighth-grade teams.

Junior high teams tip off this week
RBC I Rangely Junior High girls’ basketball players will have a quick turnaround this week. They officially started practice Tuesday — Monday was an in-service day — and four days later they will play their first games of the season.

RANGELY I Even though the Panthers didn’t have anyone place in the Warrior Classic wrestling tournament last weekend, considering the level of competition, coach Jeff LeBleu wasn’t disappointed.

RANGELY I Two games last week, and two losses. But they were two games the Panthers could have — or should have — won. “Absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts, we can win those games,” said coach Mark Skelton.
