Obituary: Vern Bowman

Vernon “Vern” Lee Bowman was born March 30, 1941, in Sterling, Colo., to Esther and Joe Bowman. He passed away peacefully in his sleep next to his wife of almost 48 years on April 4, 2012.

Thank you! Dear Editor: I would like to start off by saying thank you to the Rangely community and surrounding areas for all of their support. As many of you may know already my son Jamie Brasfield was diagnosed with melanoma cancer on Feb. 21.

RHS track team kicks off season

— Scoggins, Ficken, Phelan lead Panther tracksters — The RHS Panthers track and field season is off to a great start. Team captains are junior William Scoggins and sophomores Chelsea Ficken and Connor Phelan.

LeBlanc qualifies for Olympic trials

Wrestling for the Cowboy Wrestling Club, Joe LeBlanc, a Meeker High School graduate and four-time All-American for the University of Wyoming, qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Iowa City, Iowa, April 21-22.
