Stout remembered
Darryl Stout, shown here with his wife, Susan, at Niagara Falls, was the voice of Meeker Cowboy home football games for 15 seasons. Stout, who died in April, will be honored at Friday’s home game as a new sound system at Starbuck Stadium will be dedicated in his memory.

Cowboys keep on rolling with Lake County win
MEEKER I Racking up big numbers hasn’t been the goal this season. Winning games is the goal. The Cowboys have been doing both. Two weeks ago, Meeker set its high mark for scoring for the season with a 50-19 win over the Class 5A Fruita Monument junior varsity.

Loshbaugh to replace Hooker on Pioneers Medical Center board
MEEKER I Local business owner Avis Loshbaugh has been appointed to replace Pat Hooker on the board of directors of Pioneers Medical Center. Hooker, who is the administrator for the county, resigned his position on the hospital board.
