Fall Festival features fun

Sept. 27 event benefits area non-profit agencies MEEKER — It won’t be long, and fall will have arrived. It also means the Fall Festival is almost here.

Tony Theos named Colo.

MEEKER — The Colorado Wool Growers 81st annual convention was held July 22-24 in Keystone, Colo., and outgoing president Joe Sperry (Delta) was replaced by president-elect Anthony (Tony) Theos.

Variable weather means variable fishing

RBC — Rain, snow, bright sunshine, warm temperatures, possibly all in a matter of hours — sounds like another summer day in Colorado. Indeed, the weather across the state has been variable the past week or so, and that is reflected in the outlook for fishing.

Teams tie in Cowboy Kickoff

MEEKER — Two teams finished the annual Cowboy Kickoff Classic golf tournament with an eight-under-par 60 but only one team was willing to participate in the playoff to determine the winner.
