ARRESTS
8/29/2023-Male party was picked up from Mesa County Jail and transported to Moffat County Jail on a Rio Blanco County Warrant.
8/30/2023- Female party was arrested by Rangely PD on a Rio Blanco County warrant and transported to Moffat County Jail.
8/31/2023-Male party turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office on 2 out of county warrants. He was transported to Moffat County Jail.
CALL SUMMARIES
8/27/2023 @ 2:48 pm. A neighbor practicing their golf swing apparently hit the balls a little too far and into the neighbors yard. This upset the neighbor and they called the Sheriff’s Office.
8/27/2023 @ 5:05 pm. A speeding vehicle was pulled over by a deputy near the 28 mile-marker on Highway 13. Upon the deputy’s contact he noticed an open alcohol container in the vehicle and the driver admitted to drinking and driving. The driver was put through roadside maneuvers and passed them. The driver was instructed to pour out the rest of the alcohol and was issued a citation for speeding and open container.
8/31/2023 @ 1:25 pm. A hit and run accident was reported at the Meeker High School parking lot. At the time of the call there was no suspect vehicle information.
8/31/2023 @ 6:03 pm. A wildfire broke out on County Road 17. The fire was approximately 1/4 of an acre. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded. The fire was put out before it spread any further and fire apparatus cleared at approximately 8:00 pm.
8/31/2023 @ 8:47 pm. The orange-fiery looking moon caused some concern while it was rising. The reporting party reported a “glow” from a fire east of the Town of Rangely.
9/1/2023 @ 7:45 am. A couple of goats decided that attending Meeker High School might just be the change of scenery they needed. Unfortunately the owner showed up and took them back to their home.
