Obituary: Frances E. Woolley

Lifelong Meeker resident Frances E. Woolley, 80, died Oct. 19, 2009, at Pioneers Medical Center. Frances Estel Woolley was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Meeker, the daughter of Raymond and Estel (Aicher) Woolley. She attended Meeker schools and was graduated from Rio Blanco County High School.

Workgroup will organize info, options

MEEKER I More than a dozen residents and business owners attended a special meeting of the town board of trustees Tuesday. On the agenda? The town’s plan to establish a workgroup to “gather information and talk about ideas” for the future of the 70-year-old Meeker Elementary School building.

Gene Scritchfield remembered on anniversary today

Today is the one-year anniversary of when Meeker lost one of its favorite sons. Gene Scritchfield, the well-known Meeker outfitter and rancher, died in a tractor rollover accident one year ago today. He was only 38.

Herrera~Hines wedding

Katrina Herrera and Christopher Hines were united in marriage on Aug. 8, in a small family ceremony in Manitou Springs. Katrina is a 2006 Rangely High School graduate and was graduated from Northern Arizona University in May 2009.
