Letter: Volunteers made celebration a success

This year’s Septemberfest was a huge success because of all the volunteer help and donations that were received. Friday afternoon at Nichols Store, Mrs. Pat Hejl, Mrs. Peggy Rector and I seasoned and wrapped 44 roasts in an hour 45 minutes for the dinner on Labor Day.

The Meeker Herald — 100 years ago • P.F. Welch has sold his saloon business to John C. Richardson of Glenwood, T.A. House and H.W. Gifford of Rifle. • Luther Dennison of Rocky Ford and Meeker today rode the bucking bull and won the $100 purse offered for this feat.

Septemberfest 5K run/walk results:
