New fire start

A new fire has been reported west of Meeker on the eastern edge of the Black Mountain Wilderness Study Area. Bureau of Land Management crews are working on it. It’s been named the Grassy Fire with 30 acres burned as of 1:45 p.m. July 15.

Multiple fires reported west of Meeker

Fire crews are responding to multiple reports of fires west of Meeker to the north near the landfill and to the south in the Piceance Basin. High winds with gusts of up to 50mph are expected throughout the afternoon and evening hours. We will update as additional information becomes available.
