Ladies stomp Plateau Valley 67-22

MEEKER I Meeker High School’s girls’ basketball earned another big win to extend their record to 11-1 on Saturday, Jan. 26. The lady Cowboys are ranked No. 8 in the state with their only loss of the season to the No. 7 ranked team, Paonia.

MEEKER I As the state’s No. 7 ranked team, the lady Cowboys earned three dominating wins starting with a 51-24 victory in Rangely on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Lady Cowboys split the weekend

The Meeker girls’ varsity basketball team lined up before the game against Paonia, who gave them their first loss of the season last Saturday. Meeker bounced back and defeated Rangely 51-24.

Pair of wins for Lady Cowboys

The lady Cowboys continue to dominate opponents, beating Little Snake River (59-32) and pounding Hayden (66-15) last week to start 2013 undefeated at 6-0.

MEEKER I After soundly defeating Little Snake River on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at home, the Meeker girls’ basketball team traveled to Hayden for another big win to secure a 6-0 record before taking a break for the holidays.

MEEKER I The Meeker hoopsters traveled to Colbran Dec. 15 to cash in another win. Meeker’s intense press once again ignited a quick lead.

Lady Cowboys are the champions

The Meeker High School girls’ varsity basketball team opened the 2012-2013 season with three wins and a team championship trophy in the 2012 White River Electric Cowboy Shootout tournament held last week in Meeker. The lady Cowboys defeated Nucla, Hayden and Rangely to win the preseason tourney. Playing on the championship team were (front) Taylor Neilson, Kaysyn Chintala (named tournament MVP), Kacey Collins and Deena Norell. Back, assistant coach Mike Dinwiddie, Bailey Atwood, Kelsey Kendall, Aly Ridings, Katie Dinwiddie, Sydney Hughes, Piper Haney and head coach Greg Chintala.

MEEKER I After three big wins, the Meeker girls earned the championship trophy at the 2012 White River Electric Cowboy Shootout. Under the direction of head coach Greg Chintala the team started the tournament Thursday, Nov. 29, winning 65-19 against the Nucla Mustangs.

Ladies earn 2nd at districts

MEEKER I Meeker defeated the Rangely Panthers Friday, Jan. 23 to move into the championship game in the district tournament held in Kremmling. Saturday the Lady Cowboys lost to Paonia, ranked number one in the state for 2A girls’ basketball.

Ladies secure 2nd in conference

MEEKER I After a barn-burning win against county rivals the Rangely Panthers Friday, Feb. 17, the Lady Cowboys traveled to Kremmling to dominate the West Grand Mustangs.

Ladies lose at home, win away

MEEKER I Meeker’s lady Cowboys rallied against the Paonia Eagles for a loss Friday, Feb. 10, and traveled to Oak Creek Saturday to beat the Soroco Rams. Both games were slow starts for Meeker.
