Old Timers’ celebration: longest married

There is a lot of oral history, good food, great conversation and fun dancing on hand at the annual Rio Blanco County Pioneer Association’s Old Timers’ events, held Saturday for the 104th year. Part of the celebration is to acknowledge the couple that has been married the longest. Married for 62 years, young couple Dale and Emmy Lou Frisby took top honors among the nearly full house who enjoyed the events.

Part of the fun of each Old Timers’ gathering each year is to make special note of the oldest man and woman at the dinner and dance. Holding that distinction for many years has been the couple of Ethel Starbuck, left, who is a young 98 years old, and Joe Sullivan, right, a mere 96 years of age.
