Beef leads growth in Colo. exports
RBC I Compared to 2010, Colorado’s exports of agricultural products increased 23 percent in the first nine months of 2011 to $967 million, led by increases in beef, hides, dairy, grains and processed foods.

We fell into the deep freeze this week, with temperatures dropping below zero several nights in a row. Maybe now we can have some snow? At least enough to disguise the fact there are still unraked leaves in the yard.
Deer poacher sought in RBC
RANGELY I Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers are asking the public for any information that can help identify the person or persons who shot and abandoned a mule deer buck along Rio Blanco County Road 116, south of Rangely.

The annual boys’ WREA Cowboy Shootout will begin tonight with Rangely playing Grand Valley at 6 p.m., followed by Meeker against Cedaredge in the first round of the three-day event.
Joy case continued until 2012
MEEKER I District Court Judge Daniel Petre granted a motion for continuance in the case against Neil Joy. The motion was made by Gordon Gallagher, defense attorney for Joy.
Shop, Dine most successful
RANGELY I The Town of Rangely started the Shop and Dine Rangely program four years ago and the number of receipts generated and individuals participating in the program this year broke records.

Rifle Ranger Districts closes roads for winter
RBC I The onset of winter has prompted the Forest Service to close two roads on the Rifle Ranger District. The road to Little Box Canyon and Coulter Mesa (NFSR 832) and the Buford-Newcastle Road (NFSR 245) will be closed to automobile use as of Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Mobile pantry in Meeker Dec. 8
MEEKER | Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) mobile pantry truck will be in Meeker providing food assistance to community members on Thursday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 779 Sulphur Creek Rd.
