Mary Louise Christman, formerly of Oxford and Pine Village, Ind., passed away peacefully in Meeker, Colo., on May 18, 2013, following a long period of poor health.

Dear Editor: My family, the Nichols family, came to Meeker in 1884. My great-grandfather was Ben Nichols and he brought his family with him. My grandfather was Fred Nichols and was 6-weeks-old when they arrived.

RBC sends 20 to state championship
RBC I Twenty Rio Blanco County track and field athletes (13 from Meeker and seven from Rangely) competed at the 2013 Colorado State Track and Field Championships at Jefferson County Stadium in Denver, and nine received medals on the podium, including one champion.

DINOSAUR I Superintendent Mary Risser of Dinosaur National Monument announced Friday that the two backcountry campsites at Ely Creek, located along the Jones Hole Trail, are closed until further notice due to black bear activity in the area.
Wedding: Kinnison~Titmus
Shaelene D. Kinnison, the daughter of Raelene and Marty Bills of Rangely, Colo., became the bride of Johnny W. Titmus, Jr., the son of Candy Titmus, also of Rangely, on April 20, 2013. The wedding took place at their home in Dinosaur, Colo., with all their loved ones in attendance.
