Back wins pro-am tourney, Watt wins Lischke

MEEKER I The annual Lischke golf tournament, the only tournament held on the Meeker Golf Course that invites golfers from anywhere to compete as individuals, was held last weekend but local golf pro Jim Cook said the “story” was about the winner of the annual pro-am tournament, preceding the Lischke.

Watts tees off No. 5

Defending Lischke champion J.C. Watt tees off No. 5 at the Meeker Golf Course. Watt led from start to finish to win back-to-back Lischke titles, six shots ahead of the runner-up.

Brown strikes gold in California

MEEKER |  Jordan Brown, who will be a junior this year at Meeker High School, qualified for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference at the Colorado state leadership conference this past April, with teammates Elissa McLaughlin and Sage Chapin.

MEEKER I The riders started arriving in Meeker early afternoon last Friday and by 6 p.m., all 32 Bike and Build riders were in Elbert Hall, ready for a dinner prepared for them by the local Methodist and Catholic churches.
