Commissioners to open review of water plans
The Colorado Wildlife Commission will initiate a formal review of plans to mitigate impacts to fish and wildlife resources that would be created by two major transmountain water development projects at its April 7 workshop at the Fairfield Center in Meeker.
Pontine finishes 4th at state
Meeker’s Devon Pontine concluded a good year with a fourth-place finish at the Colorado Middle School State Championships. Meeker was well-represented with 12 wrestlers competing in the event.

Bellco to close Meeker office
Bellco Credit Union customers in Meeker will lose the convenience of having a local branch office next month. Citing the “significant cost” of maintaining the branch “due to the location,” the credit union has decided to close the Meeker branch, effective Friday, May 13.
Loose Ends: Taking a stand against child abuse
It takes a village to raise children and it takes a community to stop child abuse. The big white sign on the courthouse lawn is not the eye-catcher; it is the patch of pinwheels representing all of the abused and neglected children across the state of Colorado.
