RANGELY I This year’s Phi Theta Kappa All Colorado Academic Team Recognition Ceremony and Honorary Luncheon will be held Wednesday, March 13 at the Denver Athletic Club, Grand Ballroom, Second Floor, at 1325 Glenarm Place in Denver. RHS ends season

RANGELY I The Rangely boys’ basketball team lost their final game of the regular season in Meeker last Friday and a loss in Kremmling ended the season for the Panthers but head coach Eric Hejl is ready to start working toward next year’s success.

Obituary: Marguerite Goudeau

Marguerite Clarke Moreland Goudeau was born July 28, 1921, and died peacefully Feb. 13, 2013, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Big Cane, La., to Samuel Lovel Moreland and Ophelia Clarke Moreland, now deceased.

Longtime Colorado Northwestern Community College basketball and baseball coach Paul Conrad was inducted into the Colorado Dugout Club Hall of Fame at the Denver Marriott Tech Center Jan. 18.

Hoot Gibson, Commander of V.F.W. Post 5162 in Rangely, recently presented a maquette of the Veterans’ Memorial to Rangely mayor Frank Huitt (trustees Clayton Gohr and Brad Casto are also pictured) at a recent town council meeting in recognition of the town’s financial support of the project. Panthers lose league games to Eagles, Bulldogs

RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers lost league games last weekend to Paonia (53-57) at home, then in Hotchkiss to the Bulldogs (47-54) and will play in Meeker for the final game of the regular season this Friday.
