MEEKER I “The fans got their money’s worth, I believe,” Meeker High School head football coach Shane Phelan said of the game between the Cowboys and the Paonia Eagles in Starbuck Stadium on Friday, which Meeker lost 22-16.

MEEKER I The Meeker High School girls’ volleyball team continued its winning streak over the weekend, beating Caprock and Plateau Valley.
MHS softball off to good start
MEEKER I This year marks the first year for Meeker High School’s softball team, and what a start it has been. The team is currently 7-3 and has outscored its opponents by more then 70 runs.

MEEKER I After a 50-8 defeat of the Leadville Panthers, the Meeker Cowboy football team remains undefeated in five games. However, they will put it on the line Friday in Starbuck Stadium as they host the defending state champion Paonia Eagles.

MEEKER I The Cowboy football team remains undefeated (5-0) after pounding the Holyoke Dragons by a 50-7 score on a neutral field in Denver on Saturday. With the win, Meeker moved up in the Maxpreps rankings to No. 3 in the state.

Cowboys’ cross country takes fifth at Eagle Valley
MEEKER I The Cowboys traveled to the Gypsum Creek Golf Course for the Eagle Valley Invitational this past Saturday. It was a beautiful day to run, and a strong showing for the Meeker team.
