Trio wins 27-hole, 4-person scramble
RANGELY I “It was a long and hot day,” Chris Hejl, the manager of Cedar Ridges Golf Course in Rangely said of the temperature Saturday when the 27-hole, four-person scramble was played.

RBC I For the second year in a row, the Colorado River Valley 14-Under All-stars won the 14-and-under District 1 Fast Pitch Softball Championships in Grand Junction, allowing them to advance to the state tournament Saturday in Denver.
Castaldo wins Meeker’s Lischke tournament
MEEKER I “I’m just thankful to be able to play the game,” the ever-optimistic Bobby Castaldo said after winning the championship flight of the annual Lischke Memorial, a two-day, 36-hole, stroke-play golf tournament at the Meeker Golf Course last weekend.

Meeker High School graduates Taylor Neilson and Jeremy Musgrave where chosen by coaches to play basketball in the 2014 Colorado High School Coaches Association all-state games, which includes contests in basketball, softball, football, cross-country, softball, volleyball, spirit and wrestling.

The Rangely 10-11 baseball team finished third in the season ending Northwest Colorado Baseball League, played last week on their home fields.
