MHS wrestlers crown four champions in Kremmling
MEEKER I The Cowboy wrestling team won the West Grand Invitational last Saturday in Kremmling, crowning four champions, including the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler. Meeker finished ahead of second place Basalt and third place Saratoga, Wyo.

MEEKER I Due to injury and/or illness, six Meeker High School wresters who were on the Cowboy’s varsity team the first week did not wrestle the second week and the Cowboys did not defend their team title at the Soroco Invitational.
RHS Panthers place six wrestlers
RANGELY I With only half of the 14 varsity weights filled last Saturday in Oak Creek, the Panther wrestling team placed six of its seven varsity wrestlers in the top three, including one champion, and placed fourth as a team in the Soroco Invitational.

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys basketball team gained a berth in the championship game of the annual White River Electric “Cowboy Shootout” Saturday afternoon, but ended on the short side of the stick as they fell to Moffat County 50-46.

RANGELY I The lady Panthers basketball team played two games in the Basin Challenge last weekend in Duchesne, Utah, where they beat the host team but lost to Altamont.

RANGELY I “The Cowboy Shootout was a good way for us to start the year,” Rangely girls’ basketball first-year head coach Quinton Kent said. “Each game presented a different set of challenges for us and it was nice to not beat up on each other like we do in practice.”

MEEKER I After three big wins, the Meeker girls earned the championship trophy at the 2012 White River Electric Cowboy Shootout. Under the direction of head coach Greg Chintala the team started the tournament Thursday, Nov. 29, winning 65-19 against the Nucla Mustangs.
