Panthers beat Rattlers for third time
RANGELY I For a third time this season, the Rangely Panthers boys’ basketball team has played and beaten the Little Snake Rattlers, most recently, a 59-48 home victory to start the new year. The Panthers now enter a tough four-game stretch, both at home and away, against league opponents.

Eric Hejl, the Rangely High School boys’ head basketball coach, was excited after winning the 2013 WREA Cowboy Shootou,and he has been quoted as saying he is “excited about 2014.”

STEAMBOAT I Colorado Parks and Wildlife will host the fourth annual Steamboat Great Outdoors Ice Fishing Tournament on Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stagecoach State Park.
Panthers wrestle in two states before Christmas break
RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers wrestling team first traveled west to Altamont, Utah, for two dual meets before turning around and heading east across Colorado to wrestle Wray in a dual, before competing in the Bob Smith Invitational on Saturday.
Ladies fall to North Park
RANGELY I The Rangely High School girls’ basketball team had a solid fourth quarter against North Park and found even scoring from their entire team, but the squad could not overcome a first-quarter deficit and lost to Wildcats in Walden, 42-34, on Saturday.
Cowboys win West Grand Tournament, again
MEEKER I The Meeker High School wrestling team traveled to Kremmling to compete in a bracketed tournament Saturday and returned with five champions, the outstanding wrestler and the team championship plaque.
