Meeker’s Cole Rogers finished second in 8-9 year old division of the state competition of the Elks National “Hoop Shoot” Free Throw Contest, making 19 of 25 free throws last weekend in Salida.

Wrestlers open in Craig

MEEKER I “It was a successful first outing,” Barone Middle School wrestling coach Lee Overton said of the five duals the young Cowboys wrestled in Craig last Saturday. “We’re growing in numbers and starting to have more success.”

Rangely boys end with victory

RANGELY — Last Saturday night the Rangely Panthers ended league play on a high note with a victory over Hayden 82-70. Even after a very tough victory over Meeker Friday night, the Panthers came out strong and outscored Hayden 20-8 in the first quarter. The game was never close.
