Panthers secure playoff berth with 41-26 grid win
RANGELY I The Rangely Panther football team secured it second state playoff berth in the second year of playing eight-man football with a 41-26 victory in Oak Creek against the Soroco Rams on Friday.
RHS volleyball hosts Meeker for parent night
RANGELY I The Rangely volleyball team will host Meeker on Friday night in a league rematch and then travel to Paonia to take on the current league leaders.

Results were not available for the Aspen cross country meet on Saturday but several runners from Meeker and Rangely competed, including Rio Blanco County’s best: seniors Caleb Lange of Meeker and Tanner Nielsen of Rangely.
Panthers turn ball, game over to Vail Christian Saints
RANGELY I Vail Christian was supposed to travel to Rangely for a football game on Yeager Field last Friday but because of a power outage caused by the snowstorm, the game was postponed until Monday, when the Saints did come to town and marched out with a 26-8 win.
Baby, it’s cold outside…
The snowstorm started before the Thursday football game between the Rangely Middle School Panthers and the Barone Middle School Cowboys in Starbuck Stadium but it didn’t prevent them from playing the game under the lights. Meeker won 22-6.
Lady Panthers drop two matches
RANGELY I The Rangely volleyball team played Vail Mountain and North Park over the weekend and came up short in both matches. Adding insult to injury was an injury to defensive specialist Simone Heinle Friday night.
Rangely gets win over Vail Christian
RANGELY I The Panther football team scored all of its points in the first quarter, but that was enough to beat the Tigers in Hayden, 15-14. The Panthers will host league foe Vail Christian on Yeager Field on Friday.
Rangely lady Panthers go 1-2 in league matches
RANGELY I The Rangely High School volleyball team went 1-2 on the weekend, playing extremely well in the league match against South Routt County (Soroco), beating them in three straight games to claim the match. Coach Jimmie Mergelman said, “We played really well this game from start to finish.”

Mustangs defeat Panthers 32-26
RANGELY I The defending league champion West Grand Mustangs rode into Rangely and spoiled the Panther homecoming, 32-26. The Panthers will now prepare to play the Tigers in Hayden on Friday.
