RANGELY I The Panther boys’ basketball team earned two wins last weekend in front of hometown fans and will play one on the road Friday before returning home to Saturday for league contest. The Panthers beat Vail Mountain 66-51 Friday last then pounded North Park 59-31 Saturday.

RANGELY I The Panthers boys’ basketball team delighted its fans Friday last, defeating the Paonia Eagles 68-59. In Hayden Saturday, the Panthers lost 60-74. The Panthers will host Vail Mountain Friday and North Park Saturday.
3 Panthers win tourney
RANGELY I Three Panther wrestlers won the Grand Junction wrestling tournament last Saturday. One finished as a consolation champ and another won a match.
Panthers drop two
RANGELY I It was a good defensive game but Panther coach Eric Hejl attributed poor shooting in his team’s loss to the West Grand Mustangs and a “meltdown” in the third quarter for the loss against the Meeker Cowboys last Saturday in Rangely.

RHS Panthers split home games
RANGELY I The defending small school state basketball champs, the Little Snake River Rattlers from Baggs, Wyo., and the Soroco Rams from Oak Creek traveled to Rangely last week for games. The Panthers lost to the Rattlers but beat the Rams.

RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers hosted their annual 11-team wrestling tournament last Saturday. Six Panthers finished in the top four and the team placed fifth.
Lady Panthers beat Rams
RANGELY I The Rangely girls’ basketball team suffered the same fate as the boys, losing to the Little Snake River Rattlers 26-43 Thursday last. They came back, however, to pound the Soroco Rams 69-43 the following night on their home court.
