MEEKER I In December, all of the fifth-graders at Meeker Elementary School had the opportunity to write an essay on the topic of “Why I am proud to be an American.”

RBC Road 5 cleanup

Meeker Chamber of Commerce director Katelin Cook thanked area energy operators, including representatives from EnCana, Shell and Williams, and the 15 groups of volunteers who helped clean up Rio Blanco County Road 5 (Piceance Creek) last Saturday. MEEKER I Property owners (or the individuals responsible for the property) are required to cut and remove weeds and brush, including weeds in adjacent alleys and public rights-of-way between June 10-20 and again between Aug.1-10.
