RANGELY I Rangely Middle School hosted the annual league tournament last weekend. The tournament brought Meeker, Craig and Steamboat Springs to town. Both the seventh-grade and eighth-grade Rangely teams finished fourth.

Letter: South Fork bridge makes no sense
The plans for a new bridge over the South Fork four miles below where the road ends at the South Fork Campground are being finalized in preparation for construction next summer. Since Federal money is paying for part of the cost, Federal standards must be followed.

MEEKER I With the paper changing editors it seems a perfect time to celebrate one of the incredible women behind nearly 30 years of “The Meeker Herald,” Leota Cook. The Cook family bought the newspaper company in 1964 and owned and operated the company until the early 1990s.
