CNCC rodeo team sending several to nationals

RANGELY I The 2013-2014 Rocky Mountain Region regular season has come to a close for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans Rodeo Team.

CNCC Rodeo team does well at Showdown

The top rider for the Colorado Northwestern Community College rodeo team for the Spartan Showdown Rodeo on March 28-29 was Brice Osborne, above, on his way to fifth in the bareback bronc ride. He also took first place in both rounds of the bull riding, and won the All-Around Cowboy title. CNCC hosted 10 visiting colleges and finished second overall. The team’s final rodeo of the year is this weekend.

RANGELY I It was a great weekend in Rangely for a rodeo as many of the CNCC Spartans had standout successes in the arena, while the entire team, volunteers and community stepped up to welcome the 10 visiting colleges and all of their families to the second annual Spartan Showdown on Friday and Saturday.

CNCC Fall Rodeo season ends, spring in five months

RANGELY I The Colorado Northwestern Community College rodeo athletes rode, roped and tied their last event of the Rocky Mountain Region’s fall season last weekend in Logan, Utah, and they will be practicing and training for the next five months, for when the spring season begins.

Bulls win at Septemberfest’s Rock’N’Bulls’N’Barrels

Colorado Northwestern Community College rodeo coach Jed Moore introduced his team to the applause of an overflowing grandstands at Columbine Park during the fourth annual Rock’N’Bull’N’Barrels event Saturday. CNCC has 22 out for the rodeo program, many among the top competitors in the nation and several returning members who participated in the College National Finals Rodeo.

RANGELY I The 4th annual Rock’N’Bull’N’Barrels competition was well attended but a bit of a letdown in Rangely for Saturday night’s performance.

RANGELY I Two incoming freshmen for the Colorado Northwestern Community College rodeo team turned in great performances at the 34th Annual Silver State International Finals Rodeo in Winnemucca, Nev.

CNCC’s cowboys perform well at national finals

RANGELY I As a team, Colorado Northwestern Community College rodeo athletes placed in the top half of colleges and universities in the country at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo., last week.

Rodeo team nets honors
