RANGELY — The Rangely pee wee wrestling team will host its home tournament Saturday, April 4 at Rangely High School.
MEEKER — It is the highest level of collegiate wrestling in the United States — the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division I — and Meeker’s Joe LeBlanc became an All-American with a fifth-place finish in the 184-pound division at the NCAA Division I Championships, held last weekend in St. Louis.
Devon Pontine won four matches and the championship in the 10-and-under division, in the 100-pound bracket.
RBC — Last Thursday, BMS wrestlers traveled to Rangely to face their intra-county rivals, the Rangely Panthers.
MEEKER — “It was pretty sad,” Meeker High School wrestling coach Joe Gutierrez said of the 2009 Colorado State Wrestling Championships. Two senior Cowboys qualified for the big show but only one match was won between the two.
