MEEKER I Rio Blanco County Historical Society partnered with ERBM Recreation and Park District to provide Meeker children an opportunity to discover history in their own backyard. History Camp was conducted each Thursday in June with approximately 15 youths in attendance each week.

The 2013 Coed Softball season, sponsored by the ERBM Recreation and Parks District, started Monday with seven teams registered, including the defending champions, Rangely True Value Hardware, and six teams from Meeker.

History of local churches topic of historical society event
MEEKER I The Rio Blanco Historical Society had an educational and entertaining quarterly meeting at St. James Episcopal Church in Meeker June 30. The meeting was held in the hall named for Father Will Richards, in honor of guest speaker Andrew Cooley, who was in character as Father Richards.

4-H Livestock Team ends successful season
RBC I The Rio Blanco County 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in 11 contests in 2013, put three members on the Colorado State 4-H All-State Livestock Judging Teams and won at least one national trip to the Western National Round-Up FFA Livestock Judging contest in January.

Monday new deadline for RBC fair booths
