Meeker Elementary gym reopens

MEEKER I After more than a month, the gym at the new Meeker Elementary School has reopened. The gym was closed Oct. 6 because of safety concerns after it was discovered the east wall had shifted away from the roof. The gym remained closed while repairs were made.

Today is Veterans Day. Take time to thank a veteran for his or her military service. They have paid the highest price to ensure we continue to enjoy the freedom to bicker, point fingers, name-call and play political games with each other. Kind of puts things in perspective, doesn’t it?

Soup kitchen opens with Thanksgiving

MEEKER I Traditionally, a free community dinner has been held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thanksgiving. This year, the free Thanksgiving dinner will be offered again, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Holy Family, 889 Park.
