Letter to the Editor: Thanks for help with fire
Dear Editor: We have always loved living in a small town. There’s nothing like having that small town community feeling, a great place to raise our children and a great place for family, friends and neighbors.
Letter to the Editor: Support for new justice center
Dear Editor: There was a letter to the editor from the supporters of saving the old elementary school urging everyone to write the commissioners, so I am availing myself of that invitation. I would like you to know that I am wholeheartedly, 100 percent in support of the plan to[Read More…]
From My Window… HopeWest-Meeker great for elderly, families; gas prices plunge
HopeWest from Grand Junction and Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker held a joint fundraiser for HopeWest-Meeker on Saturday night with the HopeWest/Pioneers Medical Center’s soon-to-open palliative care program gaining more start-up funds for the Meeker-based program.
Letter to the Editor: Vote for 3A, not Amendment 66
Dear Editor: I urge everyone to take the time to vote in this mail-in ballot election. Learn about the issues on the ballot and about the school board candidates to make informed decisions. Letter to the Editor: Nation lost over shutdown
Dear Editor: Bob, the “liberal” member of “The Five” on Fox News at 3 p.m., has claimed a great victory for the president and his fellow liberals after the resumption of business as usual in Washington. There were no winners. Our nation was the loser.
From My Window… Amendment 66 has too many questions; Meeker should back 3A
It’s looking a bit foggy out my window. I can’t get a clear picture of whether what I see on the horizon is good or bad. The good news is that some folks say it will bring more money into the Rangely and Meeker school districts; the bad news is[Read More…]
Colorado hunters, fisherman our greatest conservationists

Letter to the Editor: Taking matters into our own hands
Dear Editor: I believe it is time that we took matters into our own hands. One of the issues that Meeker residents will be asked to consider on the ballots that we’ll soon receive is Mill Levy Override 3A, which asks us to help fund our public schools.
Letter to the Editor: Who shut down our government?
Dear Editor: Even when it comes to something as basic and, apparently, as simple and straightforward as the question of who shut down the federal government, there are diametrically opposite answers, depending on whether you talk to Democrats or Republicans.
