Longtime Eckert, Colo., resident, Clifford “Shady” Lane, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, Colo. He was 89 years of age. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

College For Kids a flying success
RANGELY I Colorado Northwestern’s College For Kids program wrapped up this week as six courses during three weeks taught 25 children what makes airplanes fly, who lives in desert environments and how to find buried treasure.
Student awarded scholarship
RANGELY I In May, Bernie Gantt, Dan Dewitt and Kevin Amack represented Rio Blanco Masonic Lodge #80 while presenting a certificate worth $28,000 to Hannah Turner, Rangely High School’s 2012 class valedictorian.
