Lady Cowboys successful on homecoming
MEEKER I Friday was homecoming, and the Lady Cowboys weren’t to be denied. But it took some doing. Like five games, including winning the last three. Meeker rallied to win the match, 24-26, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-12.
Jr. high teams split contests
RBC I Rangely’s seventh-graders won in a shutout, 37-0, last week against Steamboat Springs, but the eight-graders lost a close one, 14-7. “It went down to the wire, as with most of our games,” coach Tim Webber said of the Rangely eighth-graders.

RBC | Both Barone Middle School football teams won big last week, with the A team winning 50-6 and the B team 46-0. Meanwhile, the Rangely seventh- and eighth-graders combined for a 27-6 win over Vernal, Utah.

MEEKER I Sometimes running can be painful, and last Saturday in Craig two runners on Meeker’s cross country team experienced more pain than usual. One was able to finish, the other wasn’t.

MEEKER I The Lady Cowboys had mixed results last week. On Friday, Meeker’s volleyball team traveled to Plateau Valley, winning in three games (25-9, 25-8, 25-16).
Meeker rolls over Rifle on 18 QB sacks
MEEKER I The fifth- and sixth-grade Meeker Mustangs dominated Rifle on Sunday afternoon, 22-0, sacking the quarterback 18 times.
No opponent means no game, but a win for MHS
MEEKER I The Cowboys won a game without even suiting up. And it was against a school that apparently is no longer, well, a school. Meeker called off its game last Friday against New Direction Academy of Aurora after repeated attempts to contact the online school proved unsuccessful.
X-country runners continue to improve
MEEKER I All four male runners on Meeker’s cross country team recorded their best times of the season last Friday in Grand Junction. Rangely freshman William Scoggins was again the first Cowboy to cross the line, finishing the 3.1-mile course in under 20 minutes for a second time this season.[Read More…]
