MEEKER I Ron Dupree, Meeker High School’s new football coach, does not play golf but he learned some things about the game after hosting the annual Kickoff Classic golf scramble last Saturday at the Meeker Golf Course.

Rangely Hurricanes take state championship
RANGELY I The Rangely Hurricanes swim team won its fourth straight state championship at the Scottie Aschermann Memorial Seasonal Club championship meet held in Craig.
USA Junior Nationals …
Trey Morris, a senior at Meeker High School, was invited to play basketball at the International Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio in July. He was one of ten players invited from Colorado to attend the USA Junior Nationals week long tournament.

Co-ed softball season underway
MEEKER I The 2011 coed softball season kicked off last week and the fields are full. Games will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights with six games most nights.
