RANGELY I Even though they were missing some of their team members, Rangely Junior High’s wrestling team had some strong individual performances in last weekend’s season-opening tournament at Craig. Ketson Rouse, a sixth-grader, wrestled at 60 and 75 pounds and won twice for the Panthers.

MEEKER I The Lady Cowboys finished fourth in the District 5 basketball tournament last weekend in Rangely and will now compete in the state-qualifying Region 7 tournament this weekend at Standley Lake High School in Denver.
Hayden upsets Meeker boys in district final
MEEKER I The Hayden Tigers took advantage of timely shooting and converted 14 of 21 free throws in the final period to knock the Meeker Cowboys from the ranks of the undefeated with a 65-58 upset victory in the championship game of the District 5 tournament Saturday in Rangely.

MEEKER I Senior Mitch Jacob scored a game-high 21 points, and nearly every member of the Cowboy basketball team scored as No. 1-ranked Meeker rolled county rival Rangely Saturday 83-47.
